    Summary/Purpose:

    The Sales Manager positions the company as a top-choice provider of offering of CNC machine tool solutions.

     

    Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

    • Manage all accounts and prospects in the assigned sales territory/area by using a CRM database
    • Maintain favorable market share by serving existing customers, prospecting new clients, and using productive selling strategy
    • Develop and maintain relationships with top executives within the internal company as well as external client companies
    • Coordinate problem resolution, analyze technical documents, and recommend solutions from the full product line
    • Coordinate pre-sales technical information with engineering support staff
    • Execute other tasks related to special events (EMO, Local Exhibitions, Open Houses, etc.) or the selling process on an as-needed basis

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    The Sales Manager will supervise a distribution network, and (s)he has direct responsibility of short/long term projects and their strategic objectives.

     

    Travel:

    Overnight business trips are required.  The Sales Manager must be flexible for company funded travel during 50-60% of her/his typical work week.  Frequent travel by train, automobile, airplane, and International travel (outside of E.U.) is required.

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to provide valid proof of identity and valid E.U. work authorization documentation
    • Ability to successfully complete a company-paid drug test and pre-employment baseline physical
    • Hearing, color vision, and the ability to demonstrate general physical ability to perform job functions
    • Hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate ancillary equipment, tools, and office equipment
    • Written and verbal communication skills in the English and (or) German language, including ability to communicate with C-level executives. Proficiency in one additional language besides English is desired.
    • Attention to detail, self-motivation, organization, and the ability to process confidential information is highly desired
    • Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of machining fundamentals
    • Ability to interpret technical engineering documents (schematic drawings, machine/part blueprints, etc.)
    • Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of machining fundamentals
    • Written and verbal communication skills in the Japanese languages is highly desired

     

    Required Education, Experience, and Licensing:

    • Baccalaureate degree in Marketing, Technical Sales, Engineering, or other applicable discipline is highly desired
    • Valid driver/operator license that grants the availability for unrestricted travel
    • Familiarity with principles of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and/or technical sales
    • 1+ year(s) of experience with the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • 3+ year(s) of experience with productive selling strategy and how it applies to business-level situations in a technical setting
    • 3+ year(s) of experience with applying sales knowledge to engineering-related concepts
    • 3+ year(s) of experience with close-tolerance machining and related metrology
    • 2+ year(s) of experience with direct personnel supervision (especially in a technical sales role) is highly desired
    • 2+ year(s) of experience with support and/or development of engineering documentation is highly desired
    • Prior application of the appropriate education, experience, and licensing to comparable machinery is highly desired
